TSEGAB AYELE COFFEE

Tsegab Ayele Tulu is the owner and manager of Heleph Coffee in Ethiopia. He is the son of Ayele Tulu, the owner of the washing station of the Ayele name. Tsegab and his father process and export some of the best coffee in the region, continuing a family tradition that has existed for almost 30 years.

This amazing coffee is processed at Heleph Gowacho Washing station which is located in the Sidama region, Bona Zuria.At altitudes over 2,300 meters above. Guwacho is the new Heleph washing station established in 2023. The coffee is collected from 400 local out growers and 80 % are women.

Red Honey:

80-90% of the mucilage remains on the beans. The beans are dried on raised beds in shaded conditions. When drying they are raked on the first morning and then only once or twice in the afternoon.

Finally, the coffee goes through traditional natural processing. They shade-dry it on raised beds for 14 to 21 days. After being dried then the coffee beans are moved to the locked storehouse to await trucking to Addis Ababa and final processing.
